The Red Diamonds

Chapter Eleven

Back

Kiibii looked out into the swamp-forest planet and could see that this wouldn't be fun, but she didn't care. She wanted to get revenge. They all felt a similiar way. The lift stopped and they got off. "Alright, Lieutenant Hilo, scout the area for any toads. Make sure your radios are on channel twelve." Kirby began to give out orders. He would usually get a "Yes, sir." if not "Yes, captain." "Kiibii, Garby, Rorby, Winby, and Ruuby. Your team name shall be the gold team. I'll be your leader. We'll stay hidden among the trees as we await Hilo." They nimbly climbed up the trees and began looking around for any sign of toads. Hours went by when they heard some movement. Footsteps were heard, twigs snapping, leaves rustling, and voices. "Hilos? Lieutenant Hilos? Report!" Kirby ordered. No response. "Hello? Who goes there-AH!" A toad appeared before his face and he was grabbed by cold, rough hands. "Toads! Guys! Run!" He saw that they were in a net down below. He struggled and fought the ugly creatures, but they were too strong.

He soon found himself inside the net with the rest of the palla. "Kirby! Are you okay?" Kiibii asked. "Yeah, but what happened? Why didn't you yell for me when you saw them?" He responded. "They covered our mouths, so we couldn't yell out. What do you think-OW!" She was shocked by an electric staff. "Shaddup! Oo need tah beh quiet!" Barked a toad. He looked stronger than the rest, so they assumed he was a commander. They were dragged throughout the forest. The only sound they made was when they grunted from going under a twig or rock. Rorby was the worse. He was at the bottom of the net for a while, until Kirby pulled him up. He was covered in cuts and bruises. "Oh God. Are you alright?" He whispered. "Ow..." Rorby weakly said. He had blood all over him, but most of pallas had cuts too. They soon found themselves being dragged on stone, then thrown into a dark area. "Oo palaz tay ere! E ill beh rite bak!" One toad said, as he cut the net open. He ran out of the prison cell as Kirby got up and began inhaling.

He couldn't get him, but he ran away crying out. "Huh. That ought to show him. Is everyone okay?" They were sort of bloody, with cuts, scraps, and bruises, but they all were okay. Winby began looking around. "There has to be a way out of here." He looked out the door's bars and saw keys hanging several feet away. "Kirby! Look! Do you think you could suck up those keys?" Kirby saw what Winby was talking about. "Why else would I have this ability?" He opened his mouth and he began inhaling. The keys began to move, but not for long. He stopped inhaling and sat down hard, rubbing his cheeks. "What's wrong?" Ruuby asked. "I was stabbed. I'm okay, but ow. Ow, ow, ow." She helped him up and he ran back to the door. "What are you doing?" "I'm going to see if I can try again." He replied and he began inhaling again. He soon fell down again, rubbing his cheeks. "Stupid toads. Stupid keys. Stupid staffs. Stupid prison. Stupid...dirt," he began, "So. Got anymore bright ideas, Winby?" He shook his head. "No. I don't know what else we can do. They took everything."

"I guess we'll just have to sit here and wait for them to come back." Garby suggested. "What else can we do?" They all agreed and stayed close in such a dark area. It was cold and damp and smelled of rotting bodies. Soon, they heard the door open and toads appeared. Kirby got up and got in front of his friends. "Go away!" He barked. "Get away or I'll inhale!" The toads began laughing as they began digging their feet into the soft ground. "I warned you!" As soon as he began inhaling, they came closer and closer, smiling evilly. He soon saw what they were doing and stopped. "Just go away! We have nothing of interest." They were grabbed by a group of toads and as much as they struggled, it was no use. They were just too strong. They were led upstairs as soon saw that they were in a castle of some kind. After walking through several hallways and up stairs, they saw themselves in a regal looking room. It had red silk hung about everywhere, along with furs of all kinds.

The pallas were thrown against the stone flooring. "Bow to your Majesty, your Lord, your Destiny! Bow to King Yaron!" Shouted a small looking toad. In an ugly looking throne sat a large toad with a crown upon his head. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? A group of pallas. Stand up! I order you to stand up!" They didn't budge. Toads came with electric staffs, growling at them. Kirby stood up and began inhaling. One of the toads lost grip of their staffs and it disappeared into Kirby's mouth. He turned into a yellow-green color. Sparks grew from his head as he began shocking all of the guard toads. King Yaron just sat there, chuckling to see his men fall dead. "Good. Good Kirby!" He stopped and turned back into his pink color. "How do you know my name? What do you want with us? Just let us go! We don't have anything of interest!" Yaron stood up and walked towards the captain. "I know your name because I've heard of you. I don't want all of you, only you and Kiibii. I can't let you go because then my master wouldn't like that. And you do have something of interest."

Yaron walked back to his throne. "Take the rest back to the dungeon. Keep Kirby, the pink one, and Kiibii, the yellow one here." "No!" Kiibii stood up, with fists ready. "I will not stay here without my friends!" She looked around and saw surprise in the toads faces. Yaron smiled. "I like you. You're stronger than before and you're even standing up to me. A king who could easily send you to your death. But I won't. Take everyone else into the dungeons." The two saw the others pushed out of the room and the door closed. Yaron stood up and beckoned them over. "Come. Follow me. Guards, stay put." He led them into a room with a dining table. "Sit. You're not going be harmed. I want to talk to you two." They sat down, Kirby having pure hatred on his face. "Cooks! Bring out some food!" A few minutes later, food was brought out. It looked and smelled okay. "Eat! You look hungry." They were indeed hungry, but they thought the food the poisened.

"What do you want with us?" Kirby asked. "It's not what I want, it's what my master, Ing, wants." Kiibii banged her hand on the table. "Why are you following that fool?!" Yaron smiled. "Because that fool gave me power like no other. He gave me an army and a castle, but that was his mistake. With my power, I could destroy him and take over this galaxy. So my question is, do you want to join me? With you two by my side, we could run the pathetic galaxy and turn it into a powerful world! Creatures of all kinds would bow to us and beg for mercy! It would be grand!" Kirby thought about this and closed his eyes. "Do you believe in God?" "No, I don't." The toad king responded. "For that, you must die. God is the only way to eternal life in heaven. Jesus will send you before the devil when you die. I hope you understand this, Yaron." Kiibii nodded at this, but Yaron just shook his fat head. "No, I don't. Guards, take him away." Kirby got up and walked out of the room, saying, "You will die. After that, mercy will be nothing! I pray that God won't torture you Himself!"
