Kirby and Kiibii walked over to the hanger, each with a backpack full of supplies. Kirby opened the cockpit for a dual seated warp-plane. They both got in and strapped themselves in. Kirby took control of a control stick and pressed a black button. The ship began to ascend and a circular door opened. He pressed and held a button down and the ship began to move towards the open door. Once they were inside, he stopped the ship. The door behind them closed and another one opened in front of them. There, Kirby pushed the ship forward into space. "Alrighty then," he said. "Where's Sabbia?" He began pressing buttons on an LCD screen. The screen locked on to a yellow-ish planet. "There you are." He turned the ship to their right and took off. Within a few hours, he stopped near the same planet that they saw on the screen. "Computer, connect me to Halberd." The screen went black and Meta Knight appeared on screen a few moments later. "We're arriving at Sabbia. I'll tell you when we land." Kirby said. "Good. Make sure you land on the outskirt of Ville."
The screen went black once again and in thirty minutes they landed on the hot sands of Sabbia. Kirby helped Kiibii out of the plane. "Well, I saw the town over there. It shouldn't take us long to get there. Let's hope our temporary master won't beat us too hard." He said. She nodded and began walking with him. It wasn't long until they reached the town of Villa. It was a busy town, full of shops and poppys. Poppys (that's how their names are spelled) are known for their good eye, but also known for their addicting to gangs and sorts. Kirby grabbed Kiibii's hand and said, "It's best if we hold each other's hand, so we won't seperate." They walked around the city, seemingly unnoticed. Maybe air riding was suddenly banned or maybe they were somehow ghosts? No, that's impossible. How would've we died? He thought. Soon enough, they felt themselves tugged away from the crowd. Kirby looked and saw a poppy with a scarf over his mouth. Kiibii began to struggle, afraid of this mysterious being.
"Please, don't struggle! I'm only trying to help you two!" The poppy said. "How is making us air ride and beating us when we lose helping?" She shouted. "I'm not like the others." He said, pulling them into an alley. "Look, my name is Ton. I take in wondering pallas and keep them hidden in my basement until my dad can take them to a safer planet." Ton let go of the two and opened a door. "Come on! I won't hurt you. I have no intentions nor needs of hurting anyone. Please hurry! Before a Rin finds us!" Kirby walked into the building, with Kiibii trailing behind him. She didn't feel right about this, but decided to keep her mouth shut. Ton shut the door behind him as Kirby scanned the room. It was a well-lit, large room with benches and beds. There were three other pallas there asleep. "This will be your room for a while. I got a message from my dad, Eoda, saying he'll be here this week. I'll be upstairs if you two need me. Are you two hungry or thirsty?" Ton asked. They both shook their heads. "Okay. Don't hesitate if you need any help." He walked upstairs and closed a door.
Kirby walked over to the three sleeping pallas, one purple, one green, and one white. They had bruises all over them from previous beatings, but he noticed they were fading. They all looked well-fed as well. "Poor things. Having to be a slave all their lives. They're only young adults, too." Kirby whispered, sighing to see such lives already ruined. "Well, Kiibii. I suggest we starting planning for tomorrow. The race starts this Friday and it's Monday. That gives us four days to prepare." Kiibii nodded and sat on a bench, with Kirby sitting right next to her. They, quietly, discussed the plans. It was only a few hours in when Ton came down with bowls of soup. He set them down on a table and gently shook the other pallas awake. "Wake up. It's time for lunch." They got out of bed and walked over to the table, with the other two sitting down next to them. "I'll be right back. I'm going to get the drinks."
He walked upstairs once again. "Hey, you two are new here. My name is Emm." The purple one said. "My name is Sert." The green one said. "Zir." The white one said. Emm and Zir were both female, while Sert was male. "My name is Kirby and this is Kiibii." Zir looked up. "You're Kirby? Hey...you're here to save us, aren't you?" The other two agreed with this as Ton came back down with glasses of water. "Alas, no. We came to join that prix. The grand prize is this red diamond. That diamond has a holy power and we need it to fight Ing, this terrible demon." Kirby replied. The three former slaves looked into the somewhat-thick soup. "But," He said and the three looked up. "Have you three heard of Meta Knight?" They shook their heads. "Well, he's my best friend (no offense, Kiibii) and my former master. He's a palla himself and commands an enormous ship called Halberd. I'm sure he'll be pleased to help out any palla here. Maybe after I kill Ing with these diamonds, I'll be able to convince Meta Knight to start a secret program to send pallas to this wonderful and lush planet called Ces."
"Ces? Where's that?" Emm asked. "It's on the outer rim, but I can't take you there yet. Ing took the planet over, but I'm fighting to get it back. All I need to get is that diamond and two others and all four will transform into an awesome weapon." Sert raised his hand. "Four? You already have one?" Kiibii nodded. "Yeah, we do. But it's nothing without the other three. It is powerful though, even without the others, but not powerful enough." They ate in silence for a while, until Kiibii said, "Tell us about yourselves. Even though we know your lives were horrible, it'll give us more motivation to win the races tomorrow, if we're able to join." "WHEN you join." Ton said, smiling. Kirby smiled back and listened to each of their stories. Of course, Kirby would make a funny comment every now and then and they would laugh. After they told their stories, they noticed it was becoming dark and their stomachs growled. "Oh, shut up you!" Kirby yelled at his stomach.
Ton rolled his eyes and began walking upstairs. "I'll get you guys more soup and water. I'll be right back." After a few minutes, he came back down with bowls of soup, coming back a while after with drinks. They ate and drank in silence and soon after they all went to bed. They said their good-nights and the candles (the only source of light) were blown out. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and easy to fall asleep in. They all were soon sound asleep and dreaming about tomorrow's events.
