The Red Diamonds

Chapter Four

Back

Meta Knight and Kirby ran up to the bridge. A light was flashing red and that meant an urgent message. Meta Knight typed in a password and the message appeared. A dark being with no facial features spoke in an erie voice, "Kirby and Meta Knight, how nice of you to kidnap my slave. I sure hope you're ready for a fun time with me, because I'm about to get you one hard time." He laughed an evil laugh as the message came to an end. "We have something that not even I know of. Bring Kiibii up here. I need to speak to her." The soldiers did just that. When Kiibii arrived, he nodded. "Play the message." The message played. "Kirby and Meta Knight..." and it ended as it did before. "Who was that, Kiibii?" Kirby asked. She looked to the ground. "I can't tell you." He sighed, "Everyone, leave. Leave us two alone for a moment." The crew left without a word. Kiibii looked up at him. "Please don't do this. I-I just don't know why he would do this. He promised me safety after I served him. I didn't know he was evil."

"Then tell me. Who is he? What's his name?" He saw tears form in her eyes. "Ing." "Ing?" "Yes. I didn't know." Kirby handed her a tissue. "Don't cry. It's not your fault-" "But it is!" She looked up at him sternly. "Just please quit saying that. It is my fault. No matter what you say, it is my fault." She wiped the tears from her eyes walked away from the room. "Kiibii. I-wait..." He sighed. I shouldn't have done that. He walked over to a keyboard and typed in a password and the message played again. What does he want? What is his motivation? He sighed and walked out of the room, heading for the dining room. When he arrived, he saw the rest of the palla there, but not Kiibii. "Where's Kiibii?" Kirby asked. "We saw her go that-" pointing left "way with tears in her eyes." responded Ruuby. "Oh no, Kiibii." He moaned. He began running towards the direction where she went. It was not long until he found her in a library. He saw that she was sitting on a couch, looking into the fire and noticed tears in her eyes.

He began walking towards her, "Kiibii, are you alright?" She sniffed and replied with a, "You decide." Kirby sighed and sat beside her. "Kiibii, I'm sorry on what I did back there. I didn't mean that. I was just mad at that demon who destroyed my planet. I know you said this before to me, but it's not your fault. I know you did something horrible, but I don't care what it was. I wasn't there so it doesn't effect me." Kiibii looked at him. "Then why is your planet destroyed?" He sighed. "Don't beat yourself up. Please. I'll leave you alone, but I'm so sorry." He walked out of the library and headed back for the dining room. She kept on staring into the fire, but looked away when it started to hurt. She looked to her left and saw there were books. She walked over to the bookshelf and selected one. "Hero Soul"? She opened the book and began reading. She kept reading for about an hour until a guard came by. "Excuse me, but it's time for bed. I will show you to your room."

"May I bring the book?" She asked. "It's all yours." Kiibii followed him down a flight of stairs and into a hallway that looked like a hotel's hallway. He stopped at a door and swiped a card. The door opened and he handed her the card. "Good night." He walked towards the elevator. She entered the room and saw that it had a tan-white carpet and a bed, TV, bathroom, and so on. She felt quite at home, but she still felt bad about what happened back there. She walked over to the bed, put the book on the table beside her, and laid down. She grabbed the remote and turned the TV on. Like a hotel room, it had very few channels. It had a news channel, a weather channel (as if needed), a cartoons channel, and a drama channel. She sighed and switched it off. Kiibii reached for the book she got from the library and began reading it again. Meanwhile, Kirby was laying in his bed. He was thinking about what he said to Kiibii earlier. He felt sorry and had this odd feeling in his chest. It felt heavy, but light at the same time.

He opened the drawer beside him and pulled out a sheet of paper and a pencil. He got out of his bed and walked over to his desk. He began writing a long message and when he was done he put the letter in an envelope, licking the nasty glue. He began walking towards Kiibii's room (which wasn't that far away) and when he arrived he was about to slip it under the door, but then stopped. He was too nervous. Kirby began walking back towards his room. He put the letter on his desk and crawled back into bed. An hour later, he woke up from the sounds of knocking. He got up and opened the door. There stood Kiibii. "Kiibii! Uh, hi! Is there something wrong?" She nodded. "Yes, there is, but it isn't your fault. Mind if I come in?" Kirby opened the door wider. "Sure!" She began to walk in when he noticed the letter on his desk. As fast as he could, he pushed the letter into the waste basket. "What was that?" She asked. "Oh, this? This was just some spam I got. Nothing more." However, Kiibii secretly knew he was lying.

"I just want to say that I'm sorry," she began, "and I hope we can be friends again. I was just feeling bad about what Ing is doing. I know you're trying and I'm sorry that I was being so stubborn. So can we be friends again?" Kirby smiled and shook her hand. "Why not?" She began to head for the door when she turned around. "Kirby?" He turned around and saw Kiibii hug him. "Thank you." She walked out of his room with Kirby standing baffled and glowing red. He closed the door and had that heavy feeling inside of him again. And he liked it. Kirby crawled back into bed, even though he was not tired anymore. He was feeling only warm feelings.
